Saunas are what we build, rather than something we take on between other work. The difference is entirely in what disappears behind the paneling: a foil vapor barrier run continuous and taped at every lap, intake and exhaust sited where air will genuinely move between them, a heater sized against the room's real cubic volume and glass area, and benches set off your ceiling height so the top one sits up in the heat instead of below it.

• Licensed, insured, permitted. We hold a California Class B general building license, carry insurance and bonding, and take out every electrical and building permit the job needs. Inspections happen before walls close, not after.
• Built for the coast. Salt air eats hardware. We specify stainless and marine-grade fasteners, corrosion-rated heater housings and sealed exterior penetrations as standard, not as an upgrade line item.
• One crew, one number. Drawing, approvals, framing, wiring, carpentry and commissioning all sit with us. Nothing gets handed between trades and nothing falls through the gap.
• One price, fixed. What you sign after the design stage includes heater, timber, wiring, venting and permits. The final invoice matches it.
• All of the heat types. Traditional electric and wood-fired, infrared, hybrid and steam. No exclusive dealerships, so what we recommend follows the room rather than what is sitting in a warehouse.
• Wood chosen for heat. Clear western red cedar, hemlock, Nordic spruce, thermo-aspen and abachi, with nothing chemically treated anywhere the heat can reach it.
• We service what we build. The crew that put the room in is the crew that comes back to it, and we repair other people’s rooms as well, which teaches you more about failure modes than building alone ever does.

Build the best saunas in Orange County, and build them so a room installed today is still worth using in twenty years. Newport Beach took to the wellness side of sauna early and there are a lot of expensive rooms along this coast that never quite reach temperature, benches set at the wrong height, and cedar going black behind a vapor barrier that stopped six inches short of the ceiling. We would rather talk a client down to a smaller heater than sell a bigger one, and we would rather push a start date than close a wall we are not happy with. Every homeowner who calls gets a straight answer about what their space can and cannot support, whether or not that answer ends in a sale.

Picking a Builder Is Most of the Decision

By the time a sauna looks finished, every decision that determines whether it is any good has disappeared behind cedar. That is what makes one hard to buy well: you cannot inspect the part that matters. It is also why the lowest number on the table has a habit of turning into the most expensive room on the street about four winters later.

• Wiring done without a permit. A 60-amp heater feed pulled off the books is a fire risk, an insurance exposure and something you have to disclose when you sell. It is also the first thing a cheap bid leaves out.
• A vapor barrier that stops short. Skip it, puncture it, or run it to within a foot of the ceiling and moisture moves straight into your framing. In this climate you find out in two or three winters, and by then the repair is a rebuild.
• Venting left as an afterthought. No intake under the heater and no exhaust opposite it and the air goes flat, the room smells within a year, and you sit with a cooking head and cold feet.
• Hardware that was never rated for salt air. Zinc screws, mild-steel bands and an unsealed flue penetration will look fine on handover day and be weeping rust by the second summer on any lot within a mile of the sand.
• A heater sized off a chart. A glass door, an uninsulated outside wall and a tall ceiling each add to what the heater has to overcome. Pick the heater on square footage alone and you get a room that never quite arrives.
• Bench heights guessed. Heat stratifies sharply. A bench positioned without reference to the ceiling leaves your head in the cool air, and there is no heater you can buy afterwards that corrects it.
• Treated lumber and sealed finishes. Pressure-treated framing and varnished linings both give off fumes once the room is at temperature. Neither belongs near a hot room, and both turn up in DIY builds constantly.
